RECRUIT: TONI BORG

Toni Borg
TONI BORG, an incoming sophomore, will join the fastpitch Wesley Wolverines this September for the new 2019-2020 season. She will transfer from the Southern Vermont College where she played as a freshman for the SVC Mountaineers. Toni’s home is 1,500 miles away in Mansfield, Texas (but “I’m actually from New Jersey” she says.)

Coach Juli Greep: “Toni is a utility player who can help us on the corners or in the outfield. She’s a true team player who’s positive and passionate about the game. She’s a graduate of Mansfield HS, in Mansfield Texas. She was also selected to the NECC all-sportsmanship team while at SVC this spring.”

TWO NEW RECRUITS

Below are two more incoming Wolverine fastpitch freshmen headed for the Wesley College campus from opposite sides of the country. They are bringing strong athleticism along with power bats from the right and left sides of the plate!

JULIANNA CERON, a middle infielder/ outfielder from Capuchino High School, San Bruno, California.

Coach Juli Greep: “Julianna is a speedster who can slap or swing away with decent power. She had a solid glove and a great arm and will truly challenge for a position in a number of spots on our field.”

ALEAH PEBLEY, a catcher/infielder from Boyertown High School, Boyertown, Pennsylvania.

Coach Juli Greep: “Aleah is an outstanding communicator on the field as a catcher, she has a reliable and powerful bat but can also contribute defensively in other positions.”

FIVE NEW RECRUITS

For the fastpitch Wesley College Wolverines, it came down to the final Atlantic East Conference championship game last season. The fifth-seed navy and white swept through the playoffs beating every team they faced until our Wolverines were one of just two teams left standing.

Wesley proudly took home the runners-up award. Then, the Wolverines said goodbye to two key senior teammates of great impact for four years: all-conference players #8 OF Megan DiRubbio (Smyrna, DE) and #13 IF Ashley Royer (Lititz, PA).

Not to worry, however. New talented recruits are arriving this September to join the already skilled, seasoned and accomplished Wolverines in their upcoming 2020 season’s quest for the AEC championship!

Below are new Wolverines signees and there are still more coming beyond these five. Watch this blog for further announcements.

KAYLEE COLANTANO, a catcher/outfielder from Vorhees High School, Glen Gardner, New Jersey.

Coach Juli Greep: “Kaylee has been the starting varsity catcher since entering high school. Kaylee is an agile and quick defensive player who will add tremendous depth to our line up.”
