ALEXIS @ FIELD HOCKEY

Wolverine midfielder/ outfielder
Alexis Howerin, 2-sport athlete
playing field hockey and softball

This 2019 season, the fastpitch Wesley Wolverines can boast of two 2-sport athletes on the squad.

Alexis Howerin
The two are junior #6 P/OF Allison Mills (Leonardtown, MD) and sophomore #22 OF Alexis Howerin (Dover, DE). Off the softball diamond, you will find Allison diving for a volleyball at Wesley’s Wentworth Gymnasium and Alexis swinging a field hockey stick across Wesley’s Drass Field at Scott D. Miller Stadium.

Alexis’ sister, softball college senior Cassetty Howerin, has been a NFCA First Team All-American for the past three years. Cassetty plays for the Virginia Wesleyan Marlins who battled our Wolverines two years ago at DuPont Softball Field when the Marlins finished the season as the #1 (DIII) team in the nation, as they remain to this day.

Last season, Alexis started as a midfielder on the Wesley field hockey team, a position she took again this evening to deliver outstanding defense in the year’s opening game. The Wolverines scored a 3-0 victory against the Washington College Shorewomen.

Alexis will join the fastpitch Wolverines at the close of the field hockey season.
