SLAP HITTER SPEED

SOFTBALL SLAP-HITTERS stare down a base path of just 60 ft. while having only 0.350 seconds to locate a pitch and as little as 0.025 seconds to decide whether to swing. Then, when the ball is in play, there’s a race at speeds reaching 19 mph, sprinting from home to first in as little as 2.66 seconds. A third base fielder can take no more than 1.5 seconds (or throw faster than 100 mph) to record a slapper out! – ESPN stats.
