SMYRNA HOMECOMING

HS homecoming
Fastpitch Wolverines cheer on
Jess Anderson at Smyrna parade

The Homecoming Parade is an American tradition. It’s happening now, this Fall, in small towns across Delaware. (The Wesley College Homecoming is set for next week’s Saturday – Monday, October 27-29.)

Jess Anderson
It was Smyrna, Delaware’s turn last Friday evening, October 19. Striding or motoring down Main Street were marching bands, fire trucks, cheerleaders, farm tractors, local dignitaries, a multitude of floats and school sports teams, including Delaware’s 2018 softball state champions, the Smyrna Eagles!

Delaware’s 2018 fastpitch Player of the Year, First-Team All-State, currently Wesley Wolverine freshman #11 P Jessica Anderson (Smyrna, DE), returned to her hometown for the parade. She rode with her champion high school team, smiling and waving enthusiastically from the Smyrna High softball float.

Lined up on the curb – & getting there early for a good spot – were Jess’ Wesley College fastpitch Wolverine teammates to cheer her on.
